When it comes to the internet, this technological marvel has drastically transformed the modern media and commercial landscape, and usually for the better. There are a wide variety of improvements the internet has brought to us, and a few entirely new industries have been created by and for the internet. Social media is at the forefront of these new industries, as it provides a service that has never before existed. As such, it’s a new frontier to be explored, and it also presents us with a way to become successful monetarily, and even in some cases, famous. Here are some tips to help you attain social media fame.
First and foremost, I’d like to clarify that, for the sake of this article, I’m conflating YouTube with social media. While it’s not a social network per se, the lack of barrier to entry and the emphasis on feedback, a form of social interaction, as an important part of the business model lend some credibility to this grouping. More importantly, however, the advice that follows in relation to one applies to the other. With that out of the way, let’s jump into it. When it comes to attaining social media fame, the first rule to post on a consistent schedule. For example, let’s say you do a YouTube show that you can upload, at most, once a week. If this describes you, you need to do everything in your power to not miss a week. Likewise, if you post photos to Instagram daily, you should make it priority number one to post a photo every single day. The time of day you post is also important in establishing a set schedule. Another important facet of this consistency is to upload as often as humanly possible. Using YouTube as a point of reference again, most successful channels are the ones that can upload multiple videos per day. This is largely due to the type of content they produce taking relatively little time ,but you should still learn from this regardless of your goals.
Next you’ll want to make sure to look your best and otherwise present yourself in a positive light, so dressing in your best 6PM outfits on camera is a must. You also need to work on your people skills in order to be an affable social media presence.
